While my father didn’t live long enough for us to have used Home Health Care Assistance of Burlington, they were both so incredibly helpful during his last days as we were really struggling to find good help. We had used other providers with very little satisfaction making a difficult time that much worse. Tom and his wife went out of their way to discuss our options and took quite a bit of time to get to know my dad’s personality and preferences. I really can’t say enough about their professionalism, empathy and compassion.

Home Care Assistance provided services that allowed my 100-year old great aunt to continue to live in her home. The providers were caring, helpful, and accommodating to the shifting needs of my aunt. Stacy was a pleasure to work with to review the services, schedule providers, coordinate care plans and assist with billing. All of my questions were answered and the lines of communication were always open. Home Care Assistance seamlessly joined the team of providers already in place and filled in the gaps to ensure comprehensive care for my aunt. I am very thankful for their assistance and support.

Many thanks to Tom & Stacy Lee of Home Care Assistance in Essex, and our daughter for being persistent in getting us connected with HCA. Stacy visited us and she came with a caregiver for an evening shift only two days later ! She has been awesome with my wife !! She and HCA have been very proactive in engaging with Shizu and using various activities to stimulate her mind during each visit to our home.

I have been talking with Tom Lee at Home Care Assistance about my elderly mother since October 2018. It would take numerous paragraphs to properly explain our interactions so I’ll get right to the point here. He and his company are fantastic! Due to our circumstances, we have not used private-pay caregivers in our mothers home yet, but when we do, it will be HCA we contact to satisfy this need. Toms professional and caring demeanor are among his most admirable traits. Even though we haven’t hired his team, he continues to help in so many ways and always ends…

When I moved my Aunt into a Burlington, VT- area memory care facility in March 2020, the receiving staff recommended that I hire an assistant for her, to help her adjust to her new surroundings. This additional last-minute requirement jeopardized my plans for my Aunt’s transfer, and I needed to enlist those additional services quickly. I feel I made the right decision when I reached out to Tom Lee at Home Care Assistance (HCA). Tom listened to my needs and explained how the services offered by HCA could meet them. By the end of my initial conversation with Tom, I…

When looking for home care for my dad, I did my research and reading but the best information came from the resources found within the medical community already involved in my dad’s care. Home Care Assistance was highly recommended consistently. The social worker from his primary doctor’s office used their services for her own parents. From the first phone call to setting up care was very reassuring to all my concerns. I knew my dad would be in very good hands because the approach to care was unique and thorough in all areas of care that are important for everyday…

In this new age of COVID-19, the way we communicate and stay in touch with our friends, family, and co-workers is changing drastically. While we used technology to communicate before the coronavirus, we are now heavily relying on text messaging, phone calls, and video chats if we want to talk to or see our loved ones. This is certainly no exception for senior citizens, who are high-risk and most susceptible to catching the virus. For this reason, it’s important that your senior know how to use a video chat platform like Skype so they can still see family and friends….

Home Care Tax Deductions
By Stacy Lee, 9:27 am on August 14, 2019

If you or your family currently have a loved one receiving home care services, or you will soon, it is important to understand how you can use home care tax deductions to your family’s benefit. But first, a disclaimer: Home Care Assistance does not officially offer tax advice. We recommend that you seek the help of a professional. Now, let’s dive into how it works. The IRS allows family caregivers to claim individuals related by blood, marriage, or adoption – and even friends as dependents. Both parties must meet the IRS requirements. If they do, the caregiver can claim the dependent and the…
